Mr. Sonkin graduated from:
- Queens College of the City University of New York with a Bachelor of Arts in accounting in 1969.
- University of Cincinnati College of Law in 1973.
- Golden Gate University with a Masters of Arts in taxation in 1986.
Mr. Sonkin has been a member of the Washington Bar Association and the New York Bar Association since 1974. He is AV rated by Martindale Hubbel. Professional Organizations. He is also a member of the Commercial Law League of America and the International Associations of Commercial Collectors.
